On this beautiful and rainy day,
I wish somebody would walk with me,
I wish somebody would hold my hand,
Somebody who wouldn't let me go astray.
At this beautifully somber hour,
I, respectfully submissive creature,
Keep rewinding lovely features
Of her face, so sweet and sour.
And at night, the charming stormy night,
I pretend to stay awake and chipper,
I await nightmares, my good old friends;
Yet, they're lurking in the shadows out of sight.
Melancholy, she's so warm and healthy,
We can dance with her throughout the storm.
These emotions—they are dust and foam,
Their intentions are diaphanous and stealthy.
I recall some things that never happened,
Thus, obliged to act as if they did.
I recite these lines as though I'm happy,
And as if my heart can't ever bleed.
