Masquerade bawl
Social media masks our downfall
Party at the masquerade
except it’s social media ties
and filters for masks to hide
beneath and try
to stand out in a crowd
of followers too scared to believe
in a life worth living in
so they’re surrendering
hoping for a better life
the next time traveling
