Mas Parade

First Summer Carnival

By M. C. GoldPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

’Twas once a festive occasion to see -

From far and wide they all came gath’ring round;

A multitude of people just like me,

Yet still, diversity defined the crowd.

Such bittersweet emotions had emerged.

It marked that Summer, now, was winding down,

but joy just still could not resist the urge -

It framed my being like a ballroom gown.

It was so captivating just to be

witness to this yearly celebration.

Intoxicated by the energy;

more vivid than my wild imagination.

I donned my costume feathers, custom made;

A first for me, this Carnival Parade.
