Marriage Is a Servants Life
A servant I will not become, no not me

Marriage Is a Servants Life
Marriage is a servants life
At least that is what some say
Giving parts of who you are
Day after ordinary day
Serving love and serving patience
Serving dreams that change with time
Learning how to share the burden
Without keeping count or lines
Sometimes one gives more than needed
Sometimes one feels overlooked
Sometimes pages lose their meaning
From the way the story looked
Though service without respect
Turns heavy after years
Love should never mean surrender
Or surviving only tears
Marriage should not feel like duty
Or carrying both alone
It should feel like being noticed
Like somewhere safe called home
Marriage is a servants life
Only if one serves alone
Two people walking together
Makes the weight feel less unknown
