An annual treat
green mangoes you can't beat,
chili powder and salt
with the skin and all.
Wash and slice
seed inside is white
remove it and dip it
the green mango treat.
Crunchy and tart
a savory snack,
happy is my heart
and that's a wrap.
The spicier the better
but each to his own,
some even add sugar
their cover is blown.
The dip can be dry
but some like it wet,
a squeeze of lemon
does the trick.
Mango trees common
in backyards all over,
some are so tall
you might need a ladder.
They never go to waste,
but if they do
pickle green mangoes
just in case.
