A Poem

By Rose PelosPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Keep breathing

Wake up tomorrow in your blur.

Stay staring at the ceiling,

Charge, rewind, power down, plug back in.

Keep blinking

The tin man is in need of oil.

Wait on signs to make up your mind,

Change your batteries.

Keep smiling

Robots don’t feel love.

Hold on to pleasant nostalgia.

Get a fix, take a break.

Keep dancing

Convince the others you’re human.

Look back on being alive.

Replace your wires.

Keep talking

Fill the quiet with nonsense words.

Pretend you have feelings.

Find the signal again.

Keep breathing

What is desire without hope?

Be an android in a masquerade

Evolve but never forget.
