My bedroom is a haze

Of burning incense and

Afternoon sunlight.

The music of birds and traffic

Are drifting by my head with

The jasmine scented smoke.

In four hours

I’ll be back at work.

Away from the serenity

I have begun to find in this

New apartment.

I have captured

And released two mice.

I’ve finally built a dresser

I bought online.

Soon I will organize my books

And the day after that

I’ll maybe clean

My cluttered closet.

I’ll paint these lethargic white walls

With a color that sings of peace in action!

This apartment

Will be transformed

From a sleeping space

To my purest home.
