“The most powerful person in the world is the storyteller.”

-Steve Jobs

storytelling. crafting. shaping.

a terrible power we all wield.

are we liars? lovers? hope-filled? hate-sickened?

I have edited a version of myself into existence which only lives in my head.

you create a different character of me.

I play a contradictory role in your story, and in every story in whose pages I dance across, however briefly.

I leave light and bile in the wake of my steps, unable to discern one from the other.

am I your villain? your ally? your lover? traitor? queen? temptress?

no doubt, I am all, and more, scattered and shattered into so many books in crumpled facets of self, frozen in time as wicked or lovely or pain-filled as I was for the brief breath when we collided.

so are you to me.

give me my script so I may stick to my lines, I’d hate to step on the toes of your reality.

I will ensure you do the same.

I am my hero and your villain.

I am my warrior and your coward.

I am my friend and your foe.

What a great and terrible power,

storytelling.
