Magi's Conquest of the Dragon

A Poem by Baphomet0

deep down, beneath mountain peaks,

the giant beast, softly sleeps,

a heart of stone, steadily beats,

surrounded by corpses, widows weep,

the time has come, its slumber done,

ground will rumble, and the locals run,

thunderclap, in a cloudless sky,

unnatural flame, catching your eye,

wings erupt, dragon takes flight,

soaring through, the moonlit night,

its incendiary gasp, burning bright,

brandishing, an unearthly might,

scarlett scales, glowing crimson,

majestic, terrifying vision,

now the beast, it has arisen,

feasting on men, children and women,

yet one man, stands alone,

for past deeds, he must atone,

knowledge from, an ancient tome,

turn the demon dragon, into stone,

the battle long, the field vast,

long through the night, did it last,

his magic charm, dispelled the blasts,

until the time, of the spell cast,

the beast did scream, and it did screech,

but the magi’s defences, it did not breach,

felled with nought, but a speech,

falling to its final rest, there upon the beach
