Lumens

to hold the flame

Out in a forest

Where grey fluffy fauna with hearts of fire

Dash between burrows (bigger from the inside)

And leave a trail of string lights to track them

There is a girl dressed in mink and tinsel

Snowflakes don’t melt in her hands,

Do not want to leave her.

A Man called her name, with nails through His hands

They spoke the language the snow-glare speaks

And she was coquettish as a candle-flame.

Sparkling in silence

The trackless snow holds hope to hold the flame

China plates, and cider tastes like a promise made

While children cannot sleep for the life of them

Her passion strikes, burns hotter, higher

She steps our streets and catches fire

And something dances in the lights

So in this town far west and south,

Where rain clatters instead of snow,

The Mother of God stays the night.
