Lullaby

Alibi

By Colleen WaltersPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I saw you

behind the tree

sneaking a peek my way

we spend a lot of

time together, you and I

truth be told

you know all my secrets

even the secret ones

that I don't know about

all my hopes

like frizzy ropes

and dreams

top secret

invisible ink

but you know

them by heart

you glow

with your borrowed

light

just for me

your smile shines

on my face

in the dark

lighting my way

if anybody asks

where I was

I was with you

you're my

alibi.
