Luke Cage: Harlem World

Luke Cage is the man, he’s deserving of a rhyme

The world is against him, and he had to do some time

The first black hero that I ever got to see

The first hero that was kinda like me

He’s got the Wu-Tang poppin

The fools are droppin

Heroes for Hire and you already know

This whole big-time hero thing has really gotta go

He had to fight Cottonmouth, had to fight his own brotha

A man of the same tribe yet a different mother

There’s snakes everywhere ready to take a nice bite

But these fools better beware of the ghetto dark knight

He comes very swiftly in a big hoodie

He could probably kill them, but should he?

He is the man that echoes Bulletproof love

He came into Harlem and flew in like a dove

He is the hero we needed

His soul can’t be defeated

He’s the best in the game, I already decreed it

You can go head right on and retweet it

He’s got the soul and Harlem’s heart

He’s an educated brother who is quite smart

He raided Crispin Attucks

And it only raised his status

His punch is the baddest

But others are the maddest

Though he’s only in Harlem he became so much more

He’s now apart of the culture and lore

He shows you don’t have to be bulletproof to be a hero

It’s clear you have to be the master of fear though

Whether it’s Judas bullets, or the pains of life

My man Luke Cage will do what’s right

My man Luke Cage became a legend

Who knew being bulletproof wasn’t his only weapon

It’s a Harlem World, Luke Cage is the heart

It goes to show it doesn’t matter where you start

You don’t don’t have to be on the Avengers to become a legend

Luke Cage, hometown hero and forever reppin'
