Lovely Lady

Moon

By Kay StoreyPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

My lovely lady

Here I am again

& here you are

Steadfast

Unmoving

A beacon of hope &

comfort in mourning

A light that shines

Upon all our lives

Guiding us without knowing

Leading us into growing

Growing our hearts

Growing our minds

Until we happen to run out of time

You are my confidant

My lover

My leader

While I dance underneath you

I know that I will soon greet you

Under the cosmos,

Within the constellations

For you are the most thrilling sensation

A human could pleasure in

Though you are wrongly convicted

In their cardinal sins

You are also bewitching

All of us to begin stitching

A quilt of purpose

A blanket of surplus

A surplus of love

A surplus of hope

A surplus of magic so we can begin to cope

Cope with our regrets

Our debts and our everlasting threats

Threats to our future

Threats to our present

Threats that we may never face the demons of our past

Until your last crescent

I bid you adieu for now

Until the sun returns behind the clouds

I will see you again soon my old friend

For your light remains in the sky

Within my minds eye

Until the days end
