Love Trap

golden light

The silken threads, they shimmered bright,

A web of allure, bathed in golden light.

Love's melody, a siren's call,

Beckoned me closer, destined to enthrall.

With cautious steps, I ventured near,

The promise of bliss, dispelling fear.

Warmth embraced me, a gentle snare,

Unaware of the darkness lurking there.

Sweet words whispered, like honeyed wine,

Intoxicating, blurring the line

Between desire and a truth unseen,

A trap of passion, a seductive scene.

Blindly I followed, hearts entwined,

A tapestry woven, a love I'd defined.

But shadows flickered, a chilling breeze,

Whisperings of doubt, carried on the seas.

The silken threads, once soft and bright,

Now constricted tight, a suffocating sight.

Love's melody, once a joyous song,

Turned discordant, where I no longer belong.

The promises faded, like mist in the morn,

Leaving behind a heart battle-worn.

Freedom I craved, to break the hold,

But the web of deceit, a story untold.

Struggles arose, a desperate fight,

To escape the darkness, reclaim the light.

Claws of dependence, sharp and deep,

Threatening to consume, secrets to keep.

The whispers grew louder, a chorus of pain,

Of dreams shattered, a love gone insane.

The gilded cage, once a charming sight,

Now stood revealed, bathed in cold, harsh light.

With trembling hands, I began to tear,

At the silken threads, erasing all fear.

The melody faltered, a fading sound,

As freedom's embrace finally I found.

The path ahead, uncertain and blurred,

But the scars remained, a painful word.

A lesson learned, etched in my soul,

Love's sweet embrace, can sometimes take hold.

The silken threads, a cautionary tale,

Of love's illusion, that can easily fail.

To trust with reason, to see with clear eyes,

So love's true beauty, forever will rise.
