Love to pour

for Margaret, gone but never forgotten

By Shauna DougallPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

# Love to pour

A cup in hand and love to pour

Easy laughter

and coaxing the same out of our throats like wind chimes

Hours

not spent like currency but

Given like a gift

Among the leaves, in the open air

Free friends

Arms like an owl’s

Hugs with wingspan,

And wise wings beating like a heart

Feather entrapped warmth

with a Mother’s encompassing enclosure

To Make, Create, Curate a life

In thread and cloth

Ushering from soil and leaf vein

Grandmother, mother,

our sister in mother earth

And generous participator in her cyclic gifts

Generations of flesh

It takes the deepest soul love

And gives it back too

We are blessed to share these days

We make this world

And give each other pieces of god

vintage
