Love Terrifies Fear

A poem on the dance between love and fear

Motivation

Pick your poison

Fear drives the train off the rails

Runaway tracks do assail

Can be hard to bail

When fear’s the driver

See everyone as a conniver

Sinking deeper and deeper, diver

Preconceived notions reality will confirm

Satisfying the fear becomes primary concern

Until everything around you has become the germ

Infectious, dangerous, inciting loss

To be destroyed at all costs

Suddenly you’re at war with the molecule

Destroy yourself too before you get a clue

But that’s the price you pay in fear

When the spiraling head is allowed to rear

The damage done is by no means mere

Fear motivates destruction

Avra Kadavra: I destroy as I speak

.

Motivation

This is your creation

Love is the wind in your sails

On the open sea you cannot fail

Propelling you forward with whispers of encouragement

It would never dream of serving your detriment

Allows reflection, see yourself in everyone

Empathy and connection overwhelm

In community is power

You will never have to cower

For Love is all-conquering

Never stoops to fear-mongering

Light travels through darkness

A force we can harness

Darkness cannot exist in the light

(Darkness is simply the absence of light)

It can only exist in shadows, hiding away from the bright

Just as fear cannot persist in Love

(Maybe fear is simply the absence of Love)

Which is why Love terrifies fear

The two dance to prove fear cannot subsist here

Because Love dissolves fear’s power

Truth will be known the final hour

Love motivates creation

Abra Kadabra: I create as I speak
