Love of Earth

Her Poem

Broken hearted and disregarded, the boy was slain by his decisions.

He asked everyone “why don’t she love me” the answer wasn’t in his vision.

Deep down he knew the answer, but he kept all reasonings in detention.

The boy never truly loved himself, so he sought someone who spoke with conviction.

The father always had sturdy words and his phrases spewed power!

He said, “the answer to self love is happiness, but what’s sweet can also be sour.”

He said, “love can be best described as a yellow flower.”

He said, “it’s beauty comes from the earth and mirrors the sun, but once plucked its height will not tower.”

He said, “new growth takes more than an hour and the earth must build strength to grow another, though it may cower.”

We are the earth in this metaphor and the sun is the happiness we see.

Before we let someone take our flower, we must understand the harm left in thee.

Love cannot be given on a whim, no matter how many partners in your life be.

The color of yellow symbolizes the give and take that love will guarantee.
