love me

(not)

By Sara Published 6 months ago 1 min read

i hate

being hungry

when my insides

eat themselves

and the girl

in the mirror

has black circles

under her eyes.

the devil

she loves

has grown bigger

than her

because she

fed him

all of her pain

because she could not

bear it.

he holds her

from behind

kisses her neck

and whispers in her ear

that she will never

find another lover.

he holds her hand

when she sees stars

and cannot sleep

because she is empty

and tells her

that she is a good girl.

she wants to be good.

so she keeps her lips sealed.

she will die

in the arms

of starvation

because she wanted

to be loved

but could not bear it.

raw and poignant! The emotional depth is palpable, and it feels like a cry for understanding. Sending virtual hugs and hoping you find the strength to break free from the devil's hold and embrace the love and care you truly deserve. ❤

Oh wow. I really liked how this poem paced out and came back full circle. Well written!

That image...damnnnnn. lol. And your words, as deep and evocative as ever. So much heartache in this. You are just so gifted.
