It's a tale as old as time
And sadder than any movie or rhyme
A women claims there aren't any words,
that she can't describe what he does to her
She exclaims full of pride
over joyed and starry-eyed
He made her feel like the moon to his sun
To him she was perfect
she thought he was worth more than diamonds or jewels
He was charming and dashing for the eyes to behold
His words were webbed in pure gold
knew just what to say
He was the light to her darkest day
Then it all changed like the beginning of a storm
He was no longer nice and no longer warm
To her, there wasn't a description that does him true justice
her friend would beg her to hear their pleas
They would say "trust us it isn't as good as it seems"
she would just claim he made her day brighter
she was a fighter
It was More than just the gifts
"People don't understand he's the sun to my moon"
All her friends could think of were the major fights
specifically, the one that left the bruises last June
He's much more than the jacket he offered when she was cold
she trusted and loved him
He promised to love her as they grew old
Without him she was nothing
“He means more to me than a pretty face
And more than the confines of any race”
He meant more to Her than anyone can truly see
He broke my heart
He meant too much for her to flee
She stayed
He schemed and played
He began to mean more than anyone else
In truth, He meant more than life itself
As he blamed her
shamed her
Berated and interrogated
she stayed
she just couldn't let go
Still, he means more to me than friends or foe
He meant more than he'll ever know
He became her light and darkness
He was her strength and weakest
"He is my sun and all the stars"
She wasn't sure she deserved a love more functional
One that didn't leave scars
Through the love and all the pain
Through the darkness and all the rain
By his side she remain
