Love [F]or Liquor

I wanted so much to give you my all, but I'm not a can of Busch ice tall.

By Ashley EllenPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

I can still feel it.

The fire exuding from your eyes,

piercing my skin.

The graceful magnetism of our bodies,

colliding into one.

I saw you only in my dreams before.

Not even my imagination prepared me,

How could I ever want more?

So good it felt to be seen.

To feel at home. To be me.

On the tracks we stood in darkness

Hand in hand.

Uncertainty took over.

Can I compete with the beer can?

My heart, I didn't want to believe.

It was infected with a love,

that was never meant for me.

I wanted to give you my all.

But babe, your order's far too tall.

Hope the liquor is worth the loss.

You could drown enough sorrows

for the both of us.
