Love Contained

A poem

By Shannon E. MackPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I see your face in my dreams.

I am unafraid.

Because I see softened pain,

Love contained.

I would place my hand upon your face

And say that I love you.

It wouldn’t be a lie.

Only a wound.

Silently bleeding

But never dying.

Your eyes speak stories

To my soul.

I don’t respond,

Only listen.
