Lost.....Until Found?

A 2:00 AM Sleepless and Pain Filled Musing

Where does one leave such an important piece

Looking all around for something so frantically

To know that it's gone, frightening to the imagination

For one piece gone breaks many others

There is no belief without the right tools in hand

No credibility in anything that still stands

Shattered glass doesn't break as loud as this

The breaking that brought the world around to a stop

But none other heard the shattering inside

As it began to deafen one by one with the empty hands

Some furiously searching for what's been lost

Failing to see the others in distant lands

All screaming and prowling desperate in the night

Lost in the infinite darkness without the tools they need

But no tool in the world works without that one they miss

In the land of the lost ones, they need to find what's in the darkness

The darkness hides that one missing element

It obscures that one tool that can take them to new heights

There is nothing else that matters with that empty hand

They have to find it again

Two roads to follow that may fix it all

One to the miracles of those who may return the tool most sought

For there are those that can return some's lost sight

When one can't find their way with all their might

The other road is filled with treachery untold

Filled with the dangerous side of reflections

Should you walk such a road to face the ghosts of many pasts

And find that which is missing becomes visible at the end

With open eyes one might see the answers

That the world is what it has always been

Flipping the coins of fate for your magic shot

Finding none are making it easily without their tribes

The struggles are real and imagined all at once

Self-destruction does abound

For none make it to the mountains without someone else's input

But once what's needed is gone, the mountains aren't found

Til with open eyes, someone returns what you're missing to your heart

Or you find it stepping into the fray

Was it always there, all along in crisis

Will you hold onto your faith today

Without that magic tool in your grasp

Worlds look more dingy and gray in the mind

Have faith in what could be instead of what darknesses you find

Believe in one's own ability to remain in the light and be kind

What's put into the world comes back to those children of good

Or they're uplifted, and their faiths can be returned by others

Never forgetting that which hides but is felt is still there

Don't feel only the dark, but be of the light

It's fine to see it and be aware

Be ready when it is time to fight

Don't lose faith because life's not always fair
