"Lost Pieces of Me"

poem

By ElliePublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Everyone tells me I’m depressed,

But I don’t know why I feel so stressed.

Every dream whispers the same,

Yet when I search, there's no name.

I look at the sky, it's calm and wide,

For a moment, peace sits by my side.

But something's missing, something's wrong,

Like a melody that lost its song.

I want to rise, I want to build,

Yet every battle leaves me stilled.

I try, I fall, I stand, I break,

How much more can my heart take?

I dream of giving, of making them proud,

For all they’ve done, I say it loud.

But why am I stuck? Why can’t I move?

Why does my soul refuse to prove?

I ask myself—where did I go?

The girl I was, I hardly know.

She’s changed, but into who?

And what am I supposed to do?

I love them, I care, I swear it's true,

Yet my hands feel empty, my sky turns blue.

I still don’t know what’s breaking inside,

But the weight of nothing is hard to hide.
