I remember when his deep blue eyes used to meet mine
And I would get lost in them.
Now our eyes never meet and if they do,
It is only for a spilt second.
I remember when I used to laugh at his jokes
Until I could barely breathe.
Now I smile, a bittersweet smile, just at the thought of them.
I remember when I loved being next to him.
Now, seeing him walk away, saddens me at the thought.
I remember when he used to have so much fun together.
Now I am the only one that wants that back
Because he has moved on.
I remember everything.
He knows nothing.
The inside jokes, handshakes, laughs,
Pain, embarrassment, friends,
Silence, memories, smiles, awkwardness.
It means nothing, nothing anymore.
I remember when I said goodbye.
Now nothing has changed and it must be for the better.
