Lost in the Highs and the Lows

rise

By Samantha MaderaPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Clap Clap goes my hands to the rhythm of the beat.

Stretched high, my hips roll tension in my hips increase.

Short of breath, sweat it forms, hair clinging to my cheek.

I'm lost in a daze of alcohol and heat.

Through my eyes, the key to my soul lies, where loss and anger seethe.

Like a poisonous gas with cracks through the wall, it tries to escape and seep.

I ignore and push on letting liquor move my feet,

As the smoke of hookas rise and coherent thoughts retreat.

Lets dance on through our sorrows,

lets ignore pain of tomorrows.

Pop one on my tounge it follows,

Wave of pleasure fills the hollows.

Lets march on through our journeys,

each and every one built for us,

highs and lows we'll either conqour,

or lets it all destroy us.

But for now lets just forget,

how that hole feels in our chest.

How those tears roll from our eyes when feelings start to regress.

But for now let us just dance,

pretend this a bad romance.

With your hands on my thighs and hips,

that I may actuall stand a chance
