There is anger in okay;
Just okay and never an iota more.
More than just on the brink of shattering,
Splintering into a blizzard of shards,
Cutting strokes on skin canvases;
A red rage of hatching.
It is no source of fury,
Nor blind mercilessness;
It is the reverberance of wishes,
Politely tempered in company,
In the name of not being true.
It is constant.
It is forever.
And it is omnipresent.
A searing, swirling, sweeping swell of self-flagellation;
A courtesy never thanked,
Never reciprocated,
And never asked for,
But always expected.
If you must love,
If you must live,
If you must be,
Please,
Spear yourself the heartache,
And hate honestly.
Hate the noise,
The ineptitude,
The callous calls,
And the surprise you aren’t in submissive servitude;
You owe no one but yourself to be more than okay.
