Lost at Sea

A Poem about Depression

By Daisy UniversePublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

"Sad, alone, you're lost at sea."That's what my mind keeps telling me.Once again depression reigns. The voices say, "You are not sane."

Yeah, I laugh. But underneath,It's dark, I'm trapped, it's hard to breath.Life exudes, could I care less?My worlds consumed by hopelessness.

Courage, faith, they've lost their way.How can I fight what's here to stay? One step forward, two steps back. It's hard to keep my mind on track.

Conceal the pain deep inside.Let the surface hide all the lies.Anger, hurt, the hollow hate,The fog, the ache, I can't think straight.

Seek the light despite the fears.I beg, I plead, but no one hears."Pull me out! I can not swim!"Life's vibrancy, it fades, it's dim.
