Losing My Way

The paths we take

By Edward ValPublished 4 months ago • 1 min read

I drove down that old dirt road at dawn,

The sun was rising, but I felt so withdrawn.

Memories fading like the mist in the air,

I searched for a sign, but you were never there.

These winding paths just lead me astray,

With every turn, I’m losing my way.

So I’ll raise a glass to the dreams that I’ve lost,

To the lessons learned and the heavy cost.

In this silent night, I’ll find my fate,

But till then, I’m just feeling out of place

Stars used to guide me, but they all went dark,

The heart of the journey lost its spark.

Footsteps echo where love used to lay,

Now I’m just wandering, day after day

In the shadows of doubt, I’ve gone astray,

With every heartbeat, I’m losing my way.

Could it have been different,

I guess I’ll never know

We both chose different paths

At the fork in the road.

So I’ll raise a glass to the dreams that I’ve lost,

To the lessons learned and the heavy cost.

In this silent night, I’ll find my fate,

But till then, I’m just feeling out of place

These roads are getting longer every day,

And I can’t help but feel I’m losing my way.

Could it have been different,

I guess we’ll never know

We both took different paths

At the fork in the road
