Growing up you are taught how to lose and how to continue without
First, we lose our baby teeth and then grow to expect stronger ones in the place
The old family pet, our baggage at the airport
and friends from high school when you leave for college
Taught to lose our keys, endless amounts of hair ties and our first loves
They never warned us
They never taught us what to do when we lose ourselves
For you can not find it in between the seats of your car, or file a complaint with Air Canada,
When you don’t recognize who you see in the mirror.
