Looking in the Mirror

Witnessing the End of a Love

Honey look at me.

It saddens me to see water fall

From such a face.

A face that shows despair,

With ears that heard devastating words,

Lies, unkind names,

The end of a love.

With eyes that witnessed care,

Whatever was left of it.

But you haven't seen yourself in a while.

You glimmer in the light with a warm gold that seeps from your skin,

Revealing the imperishable rays of your persistence.

Your tears are diamonds.

Your face shows power. And with every drop of validity...

Your face tells us why you stayed here with us,

On this earth.
