Look At Me

11.20.25

Look at me

Let me set the scene, put you in my dreams

This life isn't for everyone

It isn't easy to be me

No one was there to pull me up

Got it out the mud, from the bottom

From a place where all you hear are screams

While everybody watches through a screen

A beautiful mind trapped in vivid dreams

Coming from a place where they like to play wicked games

Conquests keep me on a nightmare train

Guessing whether I should hit the brakes or hit the throttle

So cold in these ends will make the guy grab the bottle

Henney will make the guy act up

When the bag is light the Crown pours heavy

Feeling like I could bust a levy

There is no place to go and act tough

So I roll up the blunt until it's stuffed

I scorch the earth until I'm relaxed enough

To Let me set the scene put you in my dreams

Look at me flying

~Jasper Rei The Artist

Hello, I'm Jasper Rei The Artist. This piece is a reconnection back to poetry where I like to let my mind roam freely. It's been a while since I've written anything. Lately, I've been on a journey going inside myself to see what I can find. This work of art is a safe space to play with my words as I dream in color. I chose to keep it based in reality as life is sobering me up and on to new things. Thank you for taking the time to read my work. It's always a pleasure to share vivid scenes as my mind peaks. You can connect with me on Threads @jasperreimusic. To hear my latest EP, Penthouse Poetry, stream it on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. See you next time. Until then, keep shining.
