"Don't let yesterday
take up too much
of today"
Sometimes,
we are thinking about what happened in our past,
so much,
that we do not notice what is happening today ---
and that today is better.
This can happen to anyone
and it can drag us down into a depression
which we must constantly fight.
We need to just stop,
look around us,
and see
that life is different today.
We are no longer making that mistake,
or we no longer live in that 'situation',
or we are no longer ill.
Our minds
contain all of our memories ---
some good and some bad ---
and we need to keep the good memories
constantly in front of us.
By living in today,
we can make new and happier memories
to look back on,
in time.
Just don't let yesterday 'steal' today.

Fantastic poem!
Don't let yesterday steal today. I loved that line. It's difficult but not impossible.
