Longed for a child
Children, a mother's joy.
Barren for years, she longed for a child,
Her heart filled with hope, her spirit mild,
But time and again, her dreams were crushed,
As her womb remained empty, her heart hushed.
Then one day, a miracle occurred,
A life growing inside, a dream deferred,
Her heart filled with joy, her spirit light,
As she waited patiently for the sight.
But as the day drew near, her joy turned to fear,
As the first child came, it was clear,
A life too fragile, too small to survive,
A hope too brief, a dream too alive.
And so it went, one after another,
A life so precious, lost to her,
Her heart heavy, her spirit low,
As the pain of loss, began to grow.
But still she held on, to the hope inside,
To the dream of motherhood, that she couldn't hide,
For she knew in her heart, that someday,
She'd hold her child, and they would stay.
And so she kept on, through the trials and tears,
Through the heartbreak and pain, through the doubts and fears,
For the love of a mother, is a love that endures,
A love that can weather, the darkest of cures.
And one day, her faith was rewarded,
A child in her arms, a dream afforded,
A life so fragile, yet so strong,
A hope so real, a journey so long.
For the love of a mother, is a love that endures,
A love that can heal, the deepest of cures,
And though the pain of loss, will never be forgotten,
Her love for her child, will always be unbroken.
