Long Weekend

It’s not uncommon

to get some snow in October where I’m from,

images pass our window

as the rose colour sets in.

It’s impossible passing by to see inside,

impossible not to stare,

you can’t help but admire its briefness.

I avoid turkey too and everything else

that separates dark from light.

Sunflower hang their heads,

the birds hang around just a little longer,

the last day of the long weekend

not much to say.
