Lonely Sword of Redemption

Apart

You seek revenge, foul water

has stopped your journey

and the road

twisted into the underworld

what you saw in the light

was tainted with dark thoughts, desires

melted your happy places

and the love

fled your touch

and keeps hiding.

* * *

Are you running

against fate in the night,

do you seek sword

or candle

of compassion?

* * *

In trying to avenge the hurt

you lose part of your soul

no rest, and no forgiveness

to make your path lighter

in peace,

tormented by the pain you've met,

you deal blows with a sword

relentless in the night,

no mercy and no tears

they froze the last time you smiled

and had joy torn apart

in thousand splinters.

* * *

Pieces of your dream glittered in the ocean

waves washed away last trace

of who you were

or wished

to be.

You stand still in the dark,

you fear mirror

and the fight

between yourself, ghost, memory

of old

and what came to pass in the night

of boundless spirit.

* * *

Where will you go or flee,

eternal rest

can sway your pace,

do you dare to come in the light

are sunbeams enemies you've sworn

to vanquish before dawn steps

on horizon,

before dreams

have a voice?

* * *

Sword of redemption

brought you loneliness

in world, in heart,

in wishes,

come back

alight under a flower

all is not lost,

not while there's goodness in your soul

the will to lift, and be lifted,

to care,

sing with the wind

beloved soul.
