I can still feel

the way it was

when we were us

when you'd come up behind me in the kitchen

soft neck kissing

arms around me just because

but along the way

you let something change

you became someone dark

and someone strange

now I sleep apart from your ghost

cause I can't stand to be close to the cold

It hurts to cut the strings to dreams

but you can't tie yourself

to someone who

has unraveled at the seams

the worst part is

I feel like it's my fault

because I'm the one

who took down all my walls

You promised me

you'd care for me and love me through all seasons

then you went away without leaving

and left me with your demons.
