Living the Dream, Avoiding the Seem

When you dream, don't let a word like seem get in the way.

Just try living your dreams.

It’s not as easy as it seems.

There’s work to be had

whether it’s good or bad.

There’ll be plenty of fail,

enough to make you wail.

And, if you take it like poems that rhyme,

you’ll be disappointed, time after time.

For it is never tuned and smooth,

And there’s little to soothe.

Sweat and toil you must

with the prospect of it turning to dust.

So, should you give up on dreams

when they are hard as it seems?

Not by a long shot.

For if unfulfilled, it’ll just rot.

Pursue it and work hard

And punch in your card.

When dreams are found

Life’s abound.

And for those who found their dreams

They don’t have to worry about that word “seems”.

(for Amy, Garet, and Caleb)
