Living life to the fullest

If I woke up tomorrow as a squirrel

By John AbbottPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

As the sun begins to rise, You open up your sleepy eyes, But something feels a little off, As if your world's been turned aloft.

You sit up in your bed and yawn, And stretch your arms, as is your norm, But then you feel a sudden twitch, And realize something's changed in which.

You jump down onto the floor, And scurry to the open door, But now you're moving on all fours, And find you're only inches tall.

You look around and see a tree, And feel a calling, wild and free, Your heart begins to flutter fast, As you sense adventure's breeze at last.

You scamper up the trunk with ease, Your movements quick, your senses keen, And soon you're perched on high above, A world of wonder and unending love.

You watch as the world goes by, With wonder in your newfound eyes, And though your form has been transformed, You feel your spirit's now reborn.

For as a squirrel, you're part of all, A world of magic and a higher call, And though you'll face both joys and strife, You'll live each day to the fullest of life.
