Living in the Past

let the past be the past, trying to grasp it results in a handful of sand, every time you pick it up some gets misplaced

Living in the past

but dreaming of the future

What are you doing now?

Seemingly nothing

So how are you going to make something last?

Finding the start is the biggest how

But such a small step for you

is much larger than an ant's

Live and dance

to move that extra step

even if you blew

it'll be alright

Don't be living in the past

while dreaming of the future

Live in the present

You will afford a present

if you work to take that step

keeping yourself kept

while others are weeping in debt

life can be pleasant

The moment you are in

you might take something to the shin

It'll be alright

You will heal

to thrive and wheel

around in a new car

Don't start to deal

as it is known as a trap

you get trapped

in the past

wondering why it all didn't last

wondering what you didn't grasp

yet still locked inside the clasp

from tomorrow and today into yesterday

yesterday is today and tomorrow

do what you have got to do today

so you can live without sorrow

instead of festering on what could be

if you wasted your time lying freely
