My friends say,

"Your voice matters.

Someone needs to hear this.

Keep writing."

They heart my poems

then scroll past

to a woman in beige

telling the world to

Choose Joy,

a sunrise

with a "blessed" caption,

ten words

beneath an AI image

of heaven.

I write something

that whimpers

and bleeds.

They send a thumbs-up

and a quote

about

what doesn't kill you.

I keep writing.

My words go out

and come back

unheard.

Years from now,

my friends will gather

at my celebration of life,

say how much

they admired my work,

how much

my words meant.

And someone

will scroll back

through my poems,

looking for a place

to leave

a little heart.

About the Creator

Tina D. Lopez

Finally realizing I need to start acting like the main character in my own life. Writing helps me figure out where I keep losing the plot and giving away my spotlight. My story is a big mix of drama, comedy, tragedy, thriller, and, horror.
