Live Your Day

Live the Day with Spirit

By Dan R FowlerPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Live Your Day

I heard a comment the other day,

This comment that a certain man did say.

Its content meant oh so much more,

For it touched me deep down to my core.

It wasn’t that I hadn’t heard it before,

Over the years or in echoes from days of yore.

Passingly, all of us have often let it slip by,

Grown numb to its truth we simply turn and sigh.

But if we stop to reconsider the words simply spoken,

It delivers a soulful glimpse of life’s precious token.

But ignoring it as we all have done,

Delivers unto us empty days and worthless lives for some.

It’s a statement about how some live their lives,

As they focus on one thing rather than enjoying the ride.

The statement and its purpose are vague to many,

Can change a life, open doors, and gather blessings plenty.

This statement says most worry about only one day,

The day when life stops here, and they pass away.

Living our faith during each moment we’re here,

Gives us our reason and makes our purpose clear.

We’re not to worry so much about just the end day,

But fulfill our mission to love and mean what we say.

The comment is that people can’t enjoy life now,

Because they waste their time and have forgotten how to bow.

Having realized that it takes a sincere heart,

To touch the unseen, eternal life it imparts.

Then people can live each day as it’s given,

Knowing full well that they have been forgiven.

Life isn’t about that one dying day,

For some have already started to decay.

It’s to do unto others as we’d have them do unto us,

Pass along love and mercy and grace, without a fuss.

So let us understand the meaning of that day,

We all arrive here, live our lives, and pass away.

But in our passing at some future time,

May we have lived each day with passion sublime.
