Live Life and Share It

A Villanelle Poem

By D. E. KingPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In a world based on merit,

Though some may not fair well,

Those successful, each other do parrot.

Though like a rabbit with no carrot,

And a double ended burning candle,

I break down like a shirt too torn to wear it.

Confidence? I don't dare it!

I'd rather hide in a barrel.

Possibility of rejection is too painful to bare it.

Then, from deep within my spirit,

Like the voice of God from a Carol,

A still small voice says, "Live life, and share it."

Live life and share it?

My skills, they don't pair well.

Who would care to watch my life if I shared it?

"Trust me, and dare it,

All things will turn out well.

Don't over-think, just live life and share it."

With that I let go, took a chance, and made it!
