Little Hunter

My Girl Khali!

I sit there staring, waiting, sleeping

Always ready to pounce

The rustle I hear, I fear it’s keeping

Me from eating an ounce

My head jerks back and forth quite fast

As I follow the sounds of that mouse

I see, I pounce but oh no, blast

I need to get outa this house

I love the hunt it’s oh so fun

To creep and crawl and jump

Do you think I’ll ever outrun

The vermin at the dump?

Birds are easier for me to catch

They have no idea I’m there

Too easy for me they are no match

I always have some spare

To share with my cousin Ruby boy

Who can’t be bothered to hunt

He always think they are just his toy

And all he does is grunt

I’m definitely a hunter cat

What else could I possibly do?

Maybe I could sit on the mat

And spend time staring at you!

About the Creator

Linda Bromley

Just one of many creative outlets for me has been books! My whole life I’ve loved them and it’s so easy to make the jump to writing.

Recently I completed a poetry challenge and now, looking for more excuses to write, I’ve found myself here!
