How does it feel

To own a flower

By controlling

Everything she does,

By destroying

All that she loves

Just so she

Makes you feel okay

How does it feel

To hurt her

By clipping and clipping

All her pretty leaves

Till none are left to see

By using and abusing her

Just so you can look

at a pretty flower sometime

And you can ignore

Your little plant

On the window seal

But someday

Without a drink —

She will die,

And the only thing to blame

Will be all of your shame

And you can control

Your little plant

And smother,

Her with water

But someday —

She will drown,

And it truly is a shame

that only you'll be to blame
