List Inn

got enough for a book

By Brenton FPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

i collected all my old lists

got enough for a book

if you don't believe me then

take a long hard look

a book is just a lot of lists

all wordy and stuck together

just like the forecast in the papers

it's just a list of the weather

bakery menu;

a list of the bread

funeral notices;

a list of the dead

which doctor is in?

a list of quacks

hustler magazine

a list of cracks

a poem is like a list

like a book but shorter

a limerick is a poem

a real live five line snorter

a recipe is a list

...of ingredients

an honours list

alphabetised expedience

schindler was alleged to have had one

same can be said of moses too

be assured that your government has many

watching us; watching them; watching you

a list is a list if you get my gist

and it's best to desist

a list is a list and if you really must insist

i will simply resist and tilt my list

adjust my lean

i'd go for fourteen point eighty eight

degrees

to the right...

it's the angle

of the dangle

surreal poetry
