Lingering Discomfort

For the unignorable

How do you explain to someone you love

More than anything

That you can no longer look at them

Without feeling the urge to vomit?

How do you love someone fully,

Completely,

Wholly,

And still shiver at their touch?

How do you explain to someone unbroken

That you have been cracked

Strategically

By events out of their control?

How do you explain the damage

One wrong word

Placed carefully onto the surface in a well meaning way

Can do to a fractured china doll?

How do you tell the girl you share every thought with

That one of those thoughts

Was one too much?

How do you tell the boy

Who spends every waking moment

Desperately fighting the world off for you

That the world still got in?

How do you tell someone,

Anyone,

That you are completely decimated

Inside and out

Because of something they did

On accident?
