Limitless
Poem: About being a night owl
Sometimes after a good day,
I am afraid to go the bed,
Because I fear the person I am at night,
Wont be the person I wake up to,
She may look the same in the mirror,
Brush the same teeth she as the night before,
But her inspiration feels void,
She lacks the drive that the nighttime derives from,
Hours that feel limitless,
Until the sky awakens,
A quietness that is not lonely,
And a list of projects that are not daunting,
As much as I love to sleep,
The calmness of my thoughts feels spoken for,
While the moon is high,
I feel alive,
Inspired,
Like my dreams can expand while my eyes are open,
Where my time is not owned by the daylight,
And the obligations that follow them,
The hours slip away like an intoxicating moment,
Present, yet uncontrollable,
Where one moment turns into hours later,
And a bright orange glare creeps through your windows,
There is a glorious presence to an early morning,
Radiant, fresh, and enlightening,
it's where your notifications start to begin again,
Except to me, its the end,
Its the end of feeling limitless with no expectations,
Where time becomes a number again,
The world awakens before I even question slumbering,
But I am still expected to exist in the same light as them,
And I want to live where others feel most alive,
But what if I lay my head to rest,
And I wake up not feeling my best,
Because my mind expands where others stop,
My energy multiplies where other run out,
The night sky is limitless,
until suddenly its not.
