Like a Balloon

Floating

Floating away into the sky like a balloon,

Where did the time go?

A mom of three and slowly aging,

I don’t know what else to do.

So many responsibilities,

Where do I go from here?

Am I ignoring one over the other?

How do I take care of everything I have to do?

When did I start to feel so old?

My hip hurts and my back is aching,

But I’m too young to feel like I’m old,

But I do.

Why is Boss Baby so weird?

How does my two year old roll around the way he does?

Where the hell did all of their energy come from?

I wish I had that kind of energy, but I’m just really tired all the time.

Is my little brother home from work?

Is my mom going to get mad at us for being too loud?

Should I shut the door to make sure the baby doesn’t bother his brothers?

Maybe they’ll go to sleep soon.

I’m ready for bed,

I want to go play Sims now.

Maybe they’ll make it work.

Maybe then I’ll be floating like a balloon.
