Life passes this everg lowing Light
The Lights quiet and loud
Subtle yet ostentatious
Everything and nothing
Still life passes Light by
As though Lights unnecessary
As though it wasn't needed
The Lights' heart wasted on the wants of what passes it by
The world around Light is Fast
Fast is grey and shallow
Not dark but not quite light
A black and white movie but now
Fast is empty and void of sound
Like the sound of air in between the drops of rain
Lights nearly at a stand still
The motions of Slow and Steady
Slow and Steady reach out
Spreading, expanding, infecting
Turning things vibrant and bright
Beautiful and full
Slow and Steadies colors and ideas suffocate the area
Momentarily Slow and Steady became evident to Fast
Every frame of beauty fleeting
Light moves forward
Hesingtatingly so
Before life passes and forgets
Lights beauty was purposefully giving Life a little rest

Final Call
She flings her arms around my neck and squeezes me like she’s never going to let me go. My head spins as her lips brush against my cheek. She must be able to feel my heart thumping in my chest. I shuffle backwards and ram my hands into my coat pockets, watching her reach down and heave the rucksack across her shoulders.
