There was a light inside his soul

And it was orange

Some days, it was faded

And some days it was bright

Often full of darkness

Occasionally, brief specks of light

The colour coloured everything

Was him, as much as he was

Yet his soul knew, deep down, it was

Trapped in darkened cause

There was light when time began

And it was orange too

And as time stopped, restarted

Was that, but also blue

The light was green and purple

Red and yellow in this light

The colours of the rainbow

Joined to make a blinding white

There was a light inside his soul

And it was white as snow

Until the colours shattered

Those many years ago

Torn apart by blackness

The sunlight turned to night

Yet as the whiteness faded out

Colours shifted, newly right

There was a light inside his soul

It was orange, through and through

Yet now this orange shone

With a different, brighter hue

Some days it still faded

As blackness fought it down

Yet white still always won

And in light the darkness drowned

There was a light inside his soul

'Til the dark's final win

The orange faded out

Death has finally come for him

Yet through the colours’ mourning

Hope held against the night

Orange there, within a rainbow

Against backdrop perfect white

There was a light inside the rainbow

And it was orange
